National Industry Innovation Network (NIIN) Cyber Alliance

]The NIIN Cyber Alliance expands on NIIN’s existing cybersecurity capabilities, creating a dedicated platform to collaboratively address emerging challenges. As a collective of industry and university partners, NIIN drives digital innovation through six innovation centres, eight Research Chairs (including one focused on cybersecurity), specialist labs, and technology hubs. It provides a low-risk pathway for government and industry to engage in cybersecurity innovation and skills development, reinforcing Australia’s cyber resilience.

Why a national Cyber Alliance is needed

As reported in the Australian Signal Directorate’s (ASD’s) most recent Annual Cyber Threat Report, Australia faces the most complex and challenging strategic environment since the Second World War. These strategic challenges extend to the cyber threat landscape.The Commonwealth Government’s 2023-2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy commits more than $586 million to protecting government, individuals and businesses from cyber criminals.

What is the NIIN Cyber Alliance

The NIIN Cyber Alliance is a collective of Australia’s key academic players in the higher education sector, industry and providers who have committed to support collaborative effort to help build Australia’s cyber resilience. The Alliance extends the NIIN’s capabilities and existing cyber security assets by providing a dedicated mechanism to collaboratively solve cyber security challenges.
